Friends of the Bernardsville Public Library
What We Do
The Friends of the Bernardsville Public Library is a not-for-profit community group that assists and promotes the public library of the Borough of Bernardsville. Through your support, whether tax-deductible contributions or attending fundraising events, our annually elected board of directors works with the library director and staff to fund programs for all ages, from toddlers to our most experienced patrons. These programs, which cannot be funded through the library’s annual operating budget, include:
• Children’s programming
• Summer Reading program
• Toddler computers
• Volunteer youth recognition
• Books for our book club bags
• Books for the homebound
• In-library access to Ancestry.com
• Online book club
• Rental books (for those who can’t wait for the latest best sellers!)
• Senior luncheon and entertainment
• Sundays At Three concerts
• Volunteer and staff recognition during National Library Week (April)
• Printing of the bi-monthly newsletter
• Movie licenses
• Museum passes
The library, a cornerstone of our community, offers essential services in support of our school-aged children, our teens, and life-long learners who explore the world through books, DVDs, Playaways, online magazines, and a dynamic series of presentations, events and programs.
The Friends welcome all volunteers offering time, support in attending programs, and through fundraising. Come join us for in library celebrations during National Friends of the Library Week in October. Making a donation to the Friends or volunteering automatically makes you a member of the Friends group. If you are interested in serving on the board, please email us at Friendsbernardsvillelibrary@gmail.com.
Thank you for your continued support of our award-winning library.
