Friends of the Bernardsville Public Library

What We Do

The Friends of the Bernardsville Public Library is a not-for-profit community group that assists and promotes the public library of the Borough of Bernardsville. Through your support, whether tax-deductible contributions or attending fundraising events, our annually elected board of directors works with the library director and staff to fund programs for all ages, from toddlers to our most experienced patrons. These programs, which cannot be funded through the library’s annual operating budget, include printing and distribution of the newsletter, most children’s programming, Sundays At Three concerts, and volunteer recognition. The library, a cornerstone of the community, offerss essential services in support of our school-aged children, our teens, and life-long learners who explore the world through books, DVDs, Playaways, online magazines, and a dynamic series of presentations, events and programs.

The Friends welcome all volunteers, offering time, support in attending programs, and through fundraising. Thank you for your continued support of our award-winning library.

Commemorative Bricks Are Available for Purchase Again

The Friends of the Bernardsville Public Library are selling commemorative bricks to raise funds for the library’s special needs. The purchase of a brick is a permanent contribution to the library and, at the same time, allows donors to recognize a family member, commemorate a special event or milestone, honor a special person, or remember a loved one.

“We are offering bricks again because they are a popular way to support the library,” said Roni Larini, President of the Friends. “They make wonderful gifts and also help the Friends fund programs and library resources that help make Bernardsville Public Library a STAR library year after year.”

The cost of purchasing a brick for the garden courtyard is $250 and for the entry walkway $500. This is the same as when the library opened more than 16 years ago. To purchase a brick, pick up a form at the library. For further information, call the library at 908-766-0118.
