CAT was designed to:
● Broaden the library book titles selection in order to increase circulation.
● Engage the community by creating an environment of collaborative library development.
What does CAT do?
CAT members are library patrons, identified by the staff, who request books from the library on a regular basis. These books have proven popular with many other community members. CAT members will make recommendations to Bernardsville Public Library’s Readers’ Services Manager who will compile the recommendations and compare them to current collection needs and existing orders along with budgetary considerations. These CAT member recommendations help to vary our collection, explore new authors and works, encourage other patrons to read these titles, and assist with the circulation of the library.
Selection of materials is contingent upon the Bernardsville Public Library’s Collection Development Policy.
