Tech Update: Twitter

Twitter is an online social networking and microblogging service that enables users to send and read “tweets”– text messages limited to 140 characters. This seminar describes how to use Twitter and how to get the most out of it by following trending topics, configuring privacy settings, and tapping into third-party resources that make it easier to follow, send, and schedule tweets. We’ll also walk through building and customizing an individual profile, reading and sending Twitter updates, and find out why creating a network of followers can help you. Free. It’s great for summer vacations, when your children are at college, or for relatives who live far away. This program will provide a demonstration of how to download the Skype app and make free video calls over the Internet, from computer to computer or using cell phones.
