Library Cards

To apply for a library card, bring identification showing your relevant home or work address, as outlined below, to the library. There is no age restriction for a card.

Any person who lives, works, attends school, or pays taxes in the Borough of Bernardsville shall have the privilege of using the library according to policies set by the Board.

Program-related memberships for students participating in ongoing programs will be granted at no charge for three months. Other persons may become library members by purchasing a nonresident card.

The library has reciprocal borrowing (interchange of privileges) agreements with Bernards Township, Bedminster, Far Hills, Mendham Borough, Mendham Township, Morristown/Morris Township and the towns in the Raritan Valley Federation. Any person who lives or works in these municipalities may borrow Bernardsville Public Library materials. It is not necessary for a person to have a home library card before issuing a Bernardsville card. Bernardsville cards are also honored in their libraries.
