Poetry Celebration: April 2014
Local poets are invited to submit two poems to Bernardsville Public Library by our new deadline, Friday, March 14, 2014, to commemorate National Poetry Month in April.
The theme is “Our Town.” This can be used as an inspiration, but the poems can be about anything. We will give away one pair of tickets per library to “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder at the George Street Playhouse to the poet who best uses the “Our Town” theme.
After the submissions are received, the Raritan Valley Federation of Libraries will sponsor the publication of a Poetry Anthology, and poets whose work is chosen for the Anthology will be invited to read their work at their participating library’s Poetry Celebration in April. Bernardsville Library’s Poetry Reading will take place on Tuesday, April 22 at 7:00 pm. This will be followed by an open mike.
