Michaela McClain – Sundays at Three
Time: 3:00 PM
Location: Bernardsville Library
Join us for a free concert with Michaela McClain, a singer/songwriter born and raised in Bernardsville. Her “folky-soul” sound is reminiscent of Carol King, Norah Jones and Alicia Keys, and “her warm groove creates an atmosphere of love that’s irresistible.” Her musical influences range from Carlos Jobim, Ella Fitzgerald, Indigo Girls to India Arie. Performing with her will be bandmates Meredith Foreman, percussion; Brad Schwartzseid, bass; and Raul Abbad, guitar.
McClain, the youngest of six girls, was singing before she could talk. “My sisters and I grew up listening to my father play guitar. We sang together as a family at church and in school. We were like a real-life Von Trapp family. That’s how my love for music began.” In 2012, McClain recorded and released her debut single, Needed More, and Michaela McClain, The Dallas Sessions which features seven original songs. While developing a live show and playing out each month, she released The Manhattan Sessions featuring four original tunes. She has also released two professional music videos which can be viewed on YouTube. Aside from her success as a performer, McClain is a full-time music teacher, private piano and vocal instructor; she loves nature, vegan food, and good music.
Doors open at 2:45 pm. This concert is funded by the Friends of the Bernardsville Library. Free. No sign-up is needed.
