Native Plants: What to plant. What not to plant.
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Bernardsville Library
Michael Van Clef, PhD and leader of the NJ Invasive Species Strike Team, will present timely recommendations on what to plant and what not to plant this spring. He will focus on native species in our area that are adapted to our climate, require little care, resist pests and pathogens, and support local fauna. He will show photos of many plants, trees and ground cover, and describe their planting requirements, ranging from dry/full sun to wet/shade. Most will be deer resistant. An invasive species is defined as a species that is introduced to an area outside its natural range and excludes other species over large areas causing environmental harm. Free. Advance sign-up is requested. Click here to sign up.
