Saturday Crafters, a monthly craft group organized by Bernardsville Public Library, recently received a letter from the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center in Morristown thanking the group for its donation of 117 washcloth and soap sets.  Many of the cloths were knitted or crocheted by participating Crafters, who purchased the soaps and wrapped the parcels in colorful ribbons.  Bernardsville Library staff member Evelyn Fischel, who founded Saturday Crafters, delivered the items to the Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center where they … Continue reading

 Join library staff member Evelyn Fischel and the Saturday Crafters who meet tomorrow, July 21st, at 3 p.m. in the library to work on individual craft projects and share ideas.  Some of the group members have been busy knitting/crocheting washcloths to bundle with soap as gift packages for area shelters.   Bernardsville Library’s crafting group, Saturday Crafters, met recently to share project ideas and conversation. Thanks to a very generous donation of wool yarn from area resident Susan Haynes, the Adult Services department of Bernardsville Public Library was able to organize a charity knitting project this year. Knitters on the library staff, as well as library volunteers and members of the library’s Saturday Crafters group, turned an abundance of colorful skeins into woolen outerwear designed to keep children and adults in Mongolia warm throughout the winter.
