Navesink Brass Quintet to Perform

December 18, 2019 // Filed under Blog

Join us for a free concert by Navesink Brass on Sunday, December 22 at 3:00 pm in the library’s Community Room. The quintet will perform a special multicultural holiday concert for this “most wonderful time of the year”–celebrating Christmas in England, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.

Be prepared to enjoy “Feliz Navidad” with a special Latin flair, and “Umoja: The First Day of Kwanzaa” by Valerie Coleman. For those with a more classical outlook, the quintet will perform “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by J. S. Bach.

Formed in 1992 in Red Bank, New Jersey, the group took its name from the local river flowing through Monmouth County. The ensemble is comfortable with all styles of music from the Renaissance to Jazz and Rock. Performing will be Thomas Bender and Donald Swinchoski on trumpet; Nancy Shalvatis on horn; Daniel Carver on trombone; and Paul J. Eschelbach on tuba.

This is a free concert funded by the Friends of the Bernardsville Library. Light refreshments will be served. Doors open at 2:45 pm. No sign-up is needed.
