Illustrating the beauty, diversity and inter-connectedness of the natural world, artist Lisa Madson uses a variety of media in her work. Prominently featured is the steam transfer process called eco-dying where leaves, ferns and other natural elements are printed using tannins, soot and ink over a steam tray. The prints are then colored and covered with an encaustic mix. Other pieces included in the show utilize various different printing processes. Lisa Madson is a member of the international Nature Printing Society, the Frontline Arts community and other arts organizations. She has been featured in Skylands magazine and works as an art teacher, a workshop instructor, and currently, as artist-in-residence at McCulloch Hall in Morristown New Jersey.
