Images by the Exhibition Committee of the New Jersey Photography Forum. Impressionism is an art movement that began in the 19th century with painters Monet, Pissarro, and Degas, to name a few. Lacking in realistic detail, impressionistic images emphasize color over line and, in some cases, are soft, dreamy or have a painterly feeling. The images in this show convey the feeling of a scene, a general impression or suggestion of a scene or subject. The New Jersey Photography Forum is dedicated to furthering the interests of professional and serious photographers living or working in the New Jersey area. Over the past 24 years under the direction of Nancy Ori, the NJPF has become the largest and most recognized group of fine art exhibiting photographers in the state.
